Privacy, recording & regulatory
The AirPlx Radio records aviation radio audio and turns it into transcripts. A few responsibilities and legal notices come with that.
Recording responsibly
You are responsible for compliance with the recording, monitoring, privacy, and workplace-notice laws that apply where your device is installed. These rules vary by country, state, and locality.
Practical guidance:
- Tell your team. Let staff whose radio traffic is captured know that audio on the connected channels is recorded and transcribed. Many workplaces post a short notice near the dispatch desk.
- Record only channels you’re authorized to. Connect the device to your own operational radio feeds — not to channels you don’t have the right to monitor.
- Limit access. Only managers and admins can pair devices and manage them in AirPlx; keep that access to the people who need it.
What the device is — and isn’t — for
AirPlx Radio assists with transcription and search. It is not intended for emergency, ATC, safety-of-flight, or primary operational communications, and transcripts may be incomplete or inaccurate. Always rely on your certified radio equipment for anything operational.
