RadioManaging Devices

Managing devices

Pairing and managing radios happens in Settings → Radio.

Only managers and admins can add or manage radio devices, and only when Radio is enabled for your FBO. (Any team member can still view Radio Transcripts.) A few per-channel controls are limited to admins.

Add a device

Settings → Radio → Add Device. Power the device on and get it online, then enter the 6-character code shown on its screen. You can give it a name (for example “Tower radio”) and click Claim. The device is then bound to your FBO.

See Setup for the full first-time flow.

The device list

Each device shows:

  • Name — with a short hardware ID beneath it. Devices you haven’t named appear as “Unnamed device.”
  • Last seen — how long ago the device last checked in (or “never seen”).
  • Paired — the date it was added.

Click a row to expand it and see the device’s channels.

Rename a device

Click Rename, enter a new name, and Save.

Unpair a device

Click Unpair. You’ll be warned that the device “will stop uploading audio immediately” — unpairing removes it from your account and stops uploads. You can re-pair it later from the device (see Troubleshooting).

Channels (admins)

A device has one channel per audio input. Expand a device to see them. A status dot shows each channel’s health:

  • Green — recently active (traffic in the last hour)
  • Amber — no recent activity
  • Grey — disabled

Admins get per-channel controls:

  • Listen — hear the latest audio on that channel
  • Rename — label the channel (e.g. “Ground”, “Tower”)
  • Enable / Disable
  • Configure — audio tuning: Input gain (dB), Silence threshold (dBFS), and Post-roll (ms), with Reset to defaults. Reach for these if a channel is too quiet, too hot, or clipping the start/end of speech.
